How Elite Translations collects, uses, and protects personal data.
When you contact us, request a quote, or place an order, we collect: name, email address, telephone number, country of residence, and any content you submit (such as documents or project descriptions). We also collect basic technical data from website visits (IP address, browser type, pages visited) via server logs.
We use your data exclusively to: respond to enquiries, prepare and deliver translation services, issue invoices, process payments via Stripe, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing without your explicit consent.
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. We do not receive or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment processing: stripe.com/privacy.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may share data with: specialist translators engaged for your project (under NDA and confidentiality obligations), Stripe for payment processing, and any authority where legally required. No data is transferred outside the EEA without adequate safeguards.
Documents submitted for translation are used only for the translation project. They are not shared beyond the assigned translator and project lead. Documents are deleted from our systems within 30 days of project completion unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Order and invoice records are retained for 10 years as required by Italian fiscal law. Contact and project correspondence is retained for 3 years. Technical logs are retained for 90 days.
Under GDPR you have the right to: access your personal data, rectify inaccurate data, request deletion (where not conflicted by legal retention obligations), restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
